Welcome

BT Innovations

Who we are:

BT Innovations is a consulting company for scientific endeavors. We have a wide variety of skills, expertise and experience. We have over ten years of experience in the fields of Lithium-Ion battery research, formic acid fuel cells, metal-air batteries and hydrogen storage (e.g. metal hydrides). We've written and been succesful in numerous grants for research and development; both industrial and academic (e.g.: IRAP, NSERC, CFI, AIF, GGI, ACOA, SDTC, LearnSphere). We've successfully managed large projects and groups undertaking state of the art research and development focusing on productivity and milestone orientated results.

What we can we do for you:

Although we've developed many other skills, we're scientists first and foremost, so we're most at home in the lab. We have expertise in a wide variety of characterization techniques, listed below under "Support".

We also have experience in electrodeposition (including electroless) and remote data acquisition software development. Refer to the Software section below.

  • Software
    Software

Our programs involve remote data aquisition and processing (calculations, formatting, etc). We have some free and for purchase software available. We have programs for controlling and acquiring data from a Keithley 2400, 2600, and the 238. In addition, we host a web based scheduler for booking high-usage lab equipment. The scheduler allows users to see when the equipment is being used, when it is free, and allows multiple users to book time as they need.

We are proficient in the following languages:

  • Visual Basic
  • Test Point
  • Maple
  • Mathematica
  • LabView 8.2

    Networking

We know who to talk to, we've done it before. We know Atlantic Canada, the funding agencies, and the unique obstacles that have to be overcome. We've worked in industry and academics and have connections in both.

    How we can help

We can help you go from idea to implementation. We can help you write grants to secure funding, making sure you apply to the right funding bodies, and don't waste your time on the others
